The Missouri House Speaker Pro Tem is introducing legislation that would protect not only voters, but their votes.
The Missouri Fair Elections Act would reform the way ballot language is written and would instate the need for a photo ID to vote. Speaker Pro Tem Shane says voters will be more fairly represented.
He said," I think these forms will help overhaul Missouri's election system and provide the voter protections we need. I think they'll help insure that Missouri legislative districts are drawn with representation as the top priority, not incumbency protection."
Scheoller added that the language on ballots will be written by groups of citizens, not committees of legislators.
